Carved Tourmaline, Letter Brooches and Bangles

This is a 6.39ct Tourmaline that I first carved on the back, (pavilion) and then I faceted it a normal. It is better to carve a stone and polish the carving and then facet it, because the carving leave little chips on the edges and then the faceting, which is much more controlled, cuts the carved edges neatly. It is difficult to photograph. It is actually much more sparkly...

These are a series of three brooches that I made for three daughters.

These are five bangles that I was commissioned to make. They are to commemorate a new York Fire Fighter who passed on after the 911 disaster. I think all fire fighters are heroes.
